Product Stewardship or extended Producer Responsibility is the
concept of manufacturers and brand owners taking environmental responsibility for
products and their associated packaging when they become waste. This involves arranging
its collection, recycling or suitable disposal in a manner that minimises its environmental
impact and engaging the public in taking responsible environmental action with regards
to their products.
By working in partnership, the expertise of each sector can be
harnessed to collectively produce positive social, economic and environmental impacts.
This unique partnership approach generates a variety of CSR opportunities for UK
based public, private and third sector businesses.
